Our Tournament

The highlight of the Charity's year is undoubtedly its prestigious annual tournament known as the 'Peter Alliss Masters'.

For 26 years, this was staged at the Golf House Club Elie in the Kingdom of Fife. However 2014 heralded a new era as the event successfully transferred to the Old Thorns Manor Hotel Golf and Country Estate in Liphook Hampshire.

The Peter Alliss Masters is a two-day event – the first being an optional Practice Day followed by a Reception Dinner and the second being the main Tournament itself followed by the presentation of powered wheelchairs to several young people and finally the Tournament Gala Dinner. There is also after dinner entertainment with a number of celebrities usually taking part.

The event was traditionally run as a 'thank you' to the clubs and organisations who raised significant funds for the Charity throughout the year and was funded predominantly by donations from the powered wheelchair dealers. More recently, a limited number of places have been made available to purchase. This not only helps boost the event itself but also leads quite often to more clubs and organisations adopting the Charity for their own fundraising events. You can find out more on this front in our 'How to join in' section of the website.

The golf tournament is an individual shotgun start Stableford competition. Winner of the men's competition is presented with the Peter Alliss Masters Green Jacket and Quaich and winner of the ladies' with a Peter Alliss Masters Pashmina.
