2023 Tournament Report

We had a change this year and took the tournament to a different venue closer to the M25. Foxhills Country Club and Resort. Very much a five star venue and closer to the M25 for ease of access.

We had a great attendance from all our donors and friends which filled the 18 holes plus some double-up tees, so a busy day.  The weather was more than kind to us and after the golf, members had a couple of hours to relax and re-hydrate on the terrace in the warm sun.

In the morning the sale of £100 4-ball golf vouchers went so well we had to ring round in the afternoon to get some more!  We had vouchers from as far north as Royal Dornoch in Scotland, as far south as Ferndown in New Forest, west as Trevose in Cornwall and east as Braxted in Essex, so fair to say we covered the whole of UK. We also had a major donation from Ireland for the first time from Lahinch.

We then ran the ‘Barrel of Booze’ raffle. It was won by Mike Winsor who frankly has not been seen since he loaded his prize into his car.

Chair Presentations

Twelve chairs presented this year but sadly only three families could attend in front of the camera on the day.

It’s so very good to see the joy in the kids’ eyes and the relief from Mum and Dad who no longer have to push the old heavy chairs everywhere.

The Gala Dinner

The evening dinner, MC’d by Henry Alliss and featuring Ian Irvine, who entertained everyone with his stories, was enjoyed by all.

Some more than others!

Presentations

Neil Wilshire from the Sytner Group receiving the green jacket and the Peter Alliss trophy.

Pam Hewson, received the Peter Alliss Masters pashmina.

Finally

A different venue and a wonderfully successful day. Everything ran like clockwork, even the weather was kind with warm sunshine and a gentle breeze.

The four youngsters who received their chairs were so happy, really free for the first time. Lovely Isobel who can now go back to school and study for her A-levels and dreams of going to Uni..

Looking forward, the Trustees and I would like to grow the charity and are now looking for a major sponsor to put their name on the event alongside Peter Alliss.

Any help from you, our wonderful supporters, would be very welcome, please do contact me if you feel you can help or would like to join us.

I know Peter would be humbled and proud of what we continue to achieve in his name.

Thankyou,

Jackie
